Mount Olive lending helping hand to neighbor

"We had a customer stop by a few weeks ago inquiring on materials to for a temporary handicap ramp for his wife who had just been released from the hospital after surgery and he needed to be able to get her back for her checkup appointment. The customer continued  to explain he had spoken to a couple of churches who build ramps but they had a waiting list and he himself had back problems. I asked if it would be OK for me to drive out to his property to see if we could come up with a plan to help him and he agreed. The next day I drove out to the property and met with the customer and decided we needed to try to get he and his wife a ramp. When I returned to the store I explain to all the employees what the situation was and how I thought we could help. James Hare, Glenn Barfield, Larry Pitts, and myself all agreed we would build the ramp from some cull materials we had accumulated. We met at the property on a Wednesday morning at 5am and worked until 7:15am pretty much getting the platform finished. We agreed to meet back that afternoon around 4pm to finish and did so around 7:30pm. We also had other employees contribute money to help pay for the cull materials in order to build the ramp. Thanks to everyone who pitched in and a special thank you to James, Glenn and Larry for spending time to make it happen."   ~Danny Strickland, Manager
